Tracy Pollan’s Wife
Tracy Jo Pollan was born on June 22, 1960, in Long Island, New York. Her parents, Corrine Elaine Staller Pollan and Michael Pollan raised their daughter, her two sisters, Lori and Dana and her brother Michael in the town of Woodbury, New York.
In the mid 1980’s, she was given the role of Ellen Reed on the popular TV show Family Ties, where she first met Michael J. Fox. They were married July 16,1988 and have four children: Sam Michael (May 30, 1989), twins Aquinnah Kathleen and Schuyler Frances (Feb. 15, 1995) and Esmé Annabelle (Nov. 3,2001), all raised in New York City.
Tracy Polan Diagnosed with
In 1998, Michael went public with the news that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991. Since then he has written and spoken candidly about this, and how it has affected him and his family. Tracy has been incredibly supportive of her husband and been there in every way. In 2000, Michael founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, and since then it has become the largest non-profit funder of this disease research in the world.
Of course, Tracy is very involved with the foundation and is committed to its success in finding a cure for Parkinson’s. She said, “Living with a chronic disease is most difficult when you don’t have much information. You don’t know what to expect from the disease or what your choices are in dealing with it.”
Now, Michael is returning to television in a sit-com based loosely on his life. He plays a TV anchor man who after a five year hiatus due to Parkinson’s is trying to make a come back. Tracy guest stars on the second episode.
Michael has been very fortunate in his choice of life partner. As Tracy said, “You go through so many different stages of your relationship, and you want the person you love to support you through whatever trials and tribulations you face. I love him. I want to be there for him.” And she really has. She is certainly someone who’s example we can try to follow.
