We couldn’t find anything that Bill has said about which political side he leans to. We did find out one thing: he doesn’t like President Donald Trump.

In a 2019 interview Hader looked back on some of the characters he played on SNL, and how he wouldn’t have done them the same today. The comedian said that the current culture has changed. When asked why that happened, Hader gave the answer, “Having a racist misogynist as a president.”

Asked to explain himself further, Hader commented, “You have a guy in office who would walk over someone dying in the street if they were African-American, or Hispanic, or a woman. I think people are sick of that and hurt by it. And by telling jokes that hurt people’s feelings, in a weird way you’re aligning yourself with the president, who is the worst insult comic in the world.”

Bill has said many times that he gets very nervous about his performances. He once told a fan that he performs a mental trick to lower his anxiety:

“I purposely do something on air that I haven’t planned to get me out of my head. It’s like tricking your brain. It makes me feel like I screwed up so I can except that I screwed up and relax.”

There was a rumor that Bill Hader had once ruined the ending of James Cameron’s movie Titanic to a theater filled with “annoying sorority girls”. Hader actually confirmed that he did do this when he worked in a movie theater in Tempe, Arizona back in 1997. “And I was immediately fired. But it was so…so…SO worth it.”

The famous actor and comedian also used to be a married man. He and wife Maggie Carey were married from 2006 until their divorce in 2018.

There were numerous reports that Bill Hader and Maggie Carey reached an amicable divorce settlement just a few months after he initially filed, citing irreconcilable differences. In 2020, Bill then a single man was said to be dating fellow actor and “The O.C.” alum Rachel Bilson, however their romance ended just months later.

The comedy star met ex-wife Maggie Carey while performing as a member of a comedy troupe in a backyard in Van Nuys, California. She was sitting in the front row, and afterwards they were introduced by a mutual friend.

The couple tied the knot in 2006 and filing for divorce in 2017. In a 2015 interview with Elle, Hader joked, “A crazy night for us is drinking margaritas and going to the Strand bookstore and being kind of drunk.” He also said he knew Carey was the one after a first date involving getting drunk on the steps of the high school where “Grease” was shot.

Maggie Carey, is a filmmaker who has won awards for both documentaries and narrative films. During their marriage they welcomed three daughters.
They welcomed their first child, daughter Hannah Kathryn, on October 6, 2009. Their second daughter, Harper, was born on July 28, 2012 and third daughter, Hayley Clementine, on November 15, 2014.

In his eight-year tenure on Saturday Night Live, during which he earned an Emmy nomination, Hader ably assumed the forms of a staggering array of personages, from Al Pacino, Clint Eastwood, and Vincent Price, to the UPS guy and Julian Assange. (He also co-created Stefon, a Weekend Update correspondent whose musings on New York’s hottest and most preposterous night spots became a cultural phenomenon).

The actor and writer, who left SNL in 2013 went onto become a movies leading man. Part of Judd Apatow’s stock company of actors. He has appeared in five of his films.
