RiceGum and Jake Paul faced criticism in January 2019 for trying to promote the website Mystery Brand. Mystery Brand provides participants with the ability to “open” a digital “special box” that contains a set of pre-selected items, with a said pledge that they might win one of those things in real life through such a random drawing. RiceGum and Jake Paul criticize for their promotion of the website. The fact that a significant number of users have complained that they may have not gotten the awards that they received through the website brings one to the assumption that the service is bogus. Some YouTube stars had already made their films supporting the Mystery Product line months earlier, and he explained that he did it because they were loyal to the brand.

This video was on YouTube. “There was no conversation about it because nobody at the time considered it to be an issue.

Why was it not brought up, and why was no one even talking about these individuals? This mystery box stuff has been on the internet for three or four months already, even from other people, so why is it suddenly an issue as soon as I do it? “. At the very end of the video, he decided to hand out codes for Amazon gift cards, explaining that “there’s nothing I can do other than say sorry and give you these Amazon gift cards.” On the other hand, several individuals called him out on the fact that the Amazon codes were already invalid.

Instances of Controversy and Scandal:

RiceGum had attacked the singer Alabama Parker, who is just 10 years old and is the daughter of the artist Travis Parker. In his video blog, RiceGum stated that Alabama Parker’s acts were improper for her age and sharply condemned her upbringing and way of life. Instantaneously, her biological father and stepmother took swift action and had the video deleted from YouTube.

When video blogger Gabbi Hanna published a video in which she claimed that RiceGum had physically attacked her and smashed her mobile, another controversy erupted. She went on to share on Snapchat a video showing the wounds caused by RiceGum after she had already done so on Snapchat. Strangely, the fallout from this spat was a rise in the number of her subscribers and a reduction in the number of followers RiceGum had.

RiceGum said that he was the one who destroyed the smartphone. But he clarifies later that what seem like wounds are stretch marks. The audience members have expressed their opinion that he should have addressed the matter more courteously and that they found him to be overly acidic. Even though she has not yet initiated legal action, she has requested compensation for the loss of her mobile. Additionally, he kicks out of Twitch because one of his videos features a BB gun, which led to his suspension.
