Trevor Noah is a South African political commentator who found incredible success as Jon Stewart’s replacement on The Daily Show.

His outstanding performances throughout his career have made him win multiple awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award. Besides that, he has made it to multiple lists like ‘the most influential people in the world’ and ‘the most powerful people in New York media’.

In 2011, he immigrated to the United States and is currently popular because of his late-night television show, The Daily Show, and the political upside down that he sparked on his own. He is said to be the first South African to ever make it to The Tonight Show as a stand-up comedian.

However, you might not know that the show’s predecessor, Jon Stewart, was much more popular than Noah. The show had been so amusing that people watched it as regularly as daily worship. However, today it is not like what it had been in the past 16 years when the show was hosted by Stewart. The quality is not the same nor is the ratings, everything is at the lowest ebb. According to sources, the ratings of the show have faced a steep decline by 37% following the arrival of Noah as the host.

Recently, in June 2022, the U.S supreme court passed the resolution to overturn Roe v. Wade. It had been part of US laws since 1973 and had declared abortion legalized.

Trevor and other late-night show hosts have addressed the changing of this law in their shows. Noah was truly not happy with such a step and referred to it as ‘surreal’. He felt miserable as he said that women in America had been provided with the constitutional right of abortion for the past fifty years.

Noah, all furious with the changing of the law, added that the constitution has not changed but the makers have the judges hired exclusively by Donald Trump. He put light on other problems and decisions carried out by the judges. He started with Justice Clarence Thomas’s example as he wishes the U.S law-making body to reconsider the laws that legalized contraception and same-sex relationships and marriages across the country. Following that he gave examples of other judges who tried to overturn such laws and Trevor found it extremely inhumane as he believed this way the judges are taking the right of living from women.

Things could have been less disruptive if Trevor had not talked about the Democrats, in his show. He highlighted the fact the Democrats send fundraising emails and the voters compassionately give funds. According to Noah, what is wrong with all this is that voters should ask for the portfolio of work that the Democrats have done for them from their funds. He also mocked the democrats for their filled-with-lie emotional speeches.

Late-night talk shows are filled with ridiculous humor and mocking. So like any other host, Trevor Noah ridiculed Andy Levin and posted a picture of himself upside down during yoga. Noah criticized it for being the right pose for Democratic leadership as it included ‘very little action’.

He also rebuked the Senate jury by saying that they do ‘too little and too late’.

If you have the power to criticize then you must have the courage to face the aftermath. It is also true that people remain silent for some time only, and the same happened as Liberals of the U.S stood against Trevor Noah one after another. They got offended by Trevor’s scheme of advising voters to inquire about their funds.
