Alex Morgan and her husband Servando Carrasco have made their long-distance marriage work for years. The two play soccer in different parts of the world but manage to occasionally show up for each other in every way that actually matters.
Regarding the long-distance marriage scenario Servando once said, “It’s far from ideal to be that far from your wife”.
Alex Morgan tied the wedding knot with her husband, Servando Carrasco in 2014.
Alex is an exceptional soccer player (think of her as a much better version of Tua Tagovailoa at Alabama) and is currently playing for the U.S women’s soccer team. Servando plays under Fort Lauderdale CF as a midfielder.
Alex Morgan and Servando Carrasco: How their story began and how it’s going
Alex Morgan is an Olympic star who has several awards under her belt. Looking at her timeline as a soccer player, Alex has done 110 goals and 44 assists. Moreover, she played in the World Cup of 2011 and was the only juvenile player on the team. Later, in the 2012 summer Olympics, she brought a gold medal for the team U.S.A. Notably; the MLS refers to her as the most recognized American soccer player of her time.
Soccer plays a major role in Alex Morgan’s life and with that, it was quite affirmative when she chose Servando Carrasco as her best friend who later became her husband. Servando Carrasco is an American soccer player who serves as a defensive midfielder for Fort Lauderdale CF. Since 2011, he has played for six different teams and has been a wonderful player.
Servando Carrasco and Alex Morgan are the two well-known names in their respective category of soccer. Many might not know that the two have known each other from the time they met at the University of California, Berkeley where they played soccer. At that time, Alex was preparing her team for the N.C.A.A. tournament while Servando was playing for Golden Bears where he was made the senior co-captain of his team.
Notably, the year 2011 came with some challenges for both of them as soccer parted their ways. The Seattle Sounders drafted Servando into their team and Alex had moved to Western New York Flash. In the same year, Alex showed up in the World Cup. While playing in the semi-finals against France, she scored her first ever goal. The distance that soccer had established between the two didn’t affect the bond that they had established. It was December of 2013 when Servando took a step forward in their relationship. Previously, the two had a mere conversation about engagement rings and what their event should look like.
According to Alex, Servando had come up with the cutest plan for their celebration as they sailed their beach cruisers to Alex’s father’s home and there they celebrated their engagement.
In 2014 on New Year’s Eve, the couple officially tied the knot and were happy to announce this beautiful news.
However, after their wedding, they both tightened up towards their profession though for some time they were in the same city until 2017. Servando who was playing for Orlando City could not extend his contract in 2017 and got drafted by L.A. Galaxy. This might have made their relationship struggle had they not been soccer enthusiasts who know what it meant to them. Thus, even though they were far from each other it did not affect their relationship in any way.
In 2018, when Servando was interviewed by Pro Soccer U.S.A it showed that the couple is quite practical. Servando put light on the fact that they had around 5 to 6 years left to play soccer and after that, they can live a life of their own together as a family.
As of now, Alex is still making Orlando proud of her soccer skills while Servando is playing for Fort Lauderdale.
Recently, in May 2020 the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter who they named Charlie Elena.
Since 2021, Alex has been a partner of iFIT. This partnership was made after she left the public quite surprised and impressed with her physical fitness especially following her post-pregnancy return. iFit is a fitness program, and Alex had always wished to launch a “Train Like a Pro: Alex Morgan Cardio & Strength Series” which she finally did under iFit.
